SLAM SPAM! For those of you who are current Virtualtech clients, you should have noticed a decrease in the amount of spam you have been receiving within the past week.Like all of you, we have been plagued with an increasing amount of junk mail in our inboxes. We have been patching our mailserver as best we can to try to keep up, but the reality is that the mailserver software we have been using over the past 5 years was in need of an overhaul. Therefore, in response to the junk mail issue, along with some other issues, Virtualtech has installed a major upgrade to our mailserver. While most users will see no changes other than a decrease in junk mail, Webmail users will find some changes to the Webmail interface (though they are all for the better). While no mailserver is perfect (an occasional junk mail may get through, or an occasional legitimate message may be flagged as spam), we have found the new system to be over 95 percent accurate. Additionally, upgrades are scheduled within the next few months to push that number closer to 100 percent. We expect our mail service to be much improved, both in the ability to filter junk mail and in general stability and reliability. |

Merry Christmas! Hard to believe it is that time of year already. Though the weather has been rather "nice", it doesn't feel much like Christmas without the snow. (At least here in Northeast Wisconsin).

How can I tell people about my site?
Tell them! That may sound so simply but very often we forget about the our websites. Your web address should be every place your phone number appears. This include - print ads, radio ads, invoices, return address labels, brochures, business cards, voice mail message, by the register, on the front door or signage, the list goes on and on.
If you send statements, billings, or notices to your customers, add a postcard or slip of paper that proudly displays your web address. If your business sells to consumers, include your web address when paying bills. (you never know who will be opening that envelope).
As we start a new year of marketing, make it a point to tell everyone you meet your web address. If you have a folder of ads that you continually recycle, write in your web address, right now, so that you don't forget.
